The story behind Caremitou.
My name is Philippe, founder of Caremitou. My love for animals goes back to my childhood. Various faithful companions; dogs, cats, even birds... This passion led me to a variety of rewarding experiences, as a seasonal worker on a farm or as a volunteer at the SPA (French Animal Protection Society) in the South of France, enabling me to stay in continuous contact with animals.
Later, my career naturally turned towards the field that has always captivated me: animal health. As a medical devices developer in this field, I've been able to combine my passion for animals with my professional life; continuing my commitment to their well-being. My career path reflects my dedication to the animal world.
How did I come up with Caremitou?
On two occasions, I was affected by the unexpected loss of two pets, who died prematurely from illnesses diagnosed too late.
Through discussions with vets and behaviorists, I learned the crucial importance of monitoring changes in behavior and weight: key indicators of animal health.
These discussions were the catalyst for the birth of Caremitou: an innovative litter box designed to collect vital data and facilitating the early detection of health problems in cats.
The journey
After three years of development to produce a reliable and robust product, we have created a litter box that is easy to use and comfortable for cats, backed up by clinical validation and CE certification. We have also tested the market with our innovation at trade shows such as Expozoo and Animal Expo, and launched our first sales in 2022.
The Caremitou team has grown to include veterinary experts, and has gained visibility through the media and personalities such as the animal columnist Yoann Latouche.
We were proud to exhibit our innovation at the CES Las Vegas in 2020 and 2022 where Caremitou won the Innovation Award in the Health and Wellness category.

We organized workshops in order to gain a better understanding of the expectations of those involved in the animal's care. Today's pet owners want to understand, participate, and be informed about the state of their pet's health.
Vets want recurrent, high-quality information, and a relationship with the animal and its owner that goes beyond an annual consultation.
